The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a data privacy law that applies to businesses that collect or receive personal information from California residents. This law went into effect on January 1st, 2020.
We have made four key updates to kvCORE to assist with California customers' compliance to the CCPA.
Please Note: These updates are meant to assist with CA customers' compliance to the CCPA, but ultimately you are responsible for compliance with this law. We recommend that CA customers consult legal counsel for how this law may impact their business.
Updates
An “Export Contact Data” option that allows a CA customer to print or save all information for an individual contact if requested by that contact has been added to the platform.
This data can be exported by entering the contact profile and navigating to the 'More Actions' button. 'Export Contact Data' can be found in the dropdown menu.
There's been an update to the “Delete Contact” option, providing an option to “Delete Contact Data”, which will permanently remove all data related to this contact.
This can be accessed from the contact profile, and by clicking the 'More Actions' button as well. The "Delete Contact Data" option will be visible in the dropdown menu.
Please Note: If a lead is deleted via this method the data is unable to be recovered.
A “CCPA Contact Information” section has been made available in the Web & IDX settings for websites. “California Privacy Policy” information will be included on the Privacy Policy page which can be accessed from the bottom of each kvCORE website. CA customers can specify an email and phone number for consumers to contact you with inquiries related to CCPA.
This has been enabled for all websites with an office location in California.
