A text code is a feature that is built into your smart number. Essentially, you would have some kind of physical marketing out there, be it a business card or flyer, or a sign. It would have on it a call to action, some prompt that for more information, or to download your free app, that person should send a specific text message to your smart number.

Something like this:

See where it says "Text 'red' to: 845-875-4837" at the bottom?

'red' is the code.

Some 'codes' the smart number is already aware of.

These include:

Property address - the person who texts in a property address is given to the listing agent of that property, if their Agent ID is known.

MLS # - the person who texts in an MLS ID is given to the listing agent of that property, if their Agent ID is known.

subdomain - the person who texts in a subdomain is assigned to the agent who owns. For more information on this click here .

Common responses e.g. 'Who is this?' - The smart number will reply with some basic information to remind that person they signed up on your real estate website.

After the smart number receives the code, it auto-responds with some information. For example, if it was an MLS # or Property address, the smart number will reply with some basic info about the property and a link to the property on the seller agents' subdomain. The phone number that the code was received from is deposited as an inbound text lead in the agent dashboard of the agent who received the text lead.

Not only can the system understand those standard codes, but you can create your own as well.
