[K+] Kunversion API (Zapier)
[K+] Kunversion API (Zapier)
Updated over a week ago

Zapier is a middle man that can send new leads from other programs into K+ automatically. Or, it can send the new leads you generate in K+ to other programs.

What can connect to K+ ?

Anything that you can find in the Zapbook can hook up to K+ no questions asked. Search in the box that says 'Search 500+ Apps' to explore the list of possible connections.

Do I need to configure Zapier?

Zapier can be very intimidating and complex for non-techy types. If you like getting your hands dirty, this guide is for you. What zapier can do is very powerful for getting leads sent to K+, or getting leads sent to another program from K+.

A much simpler version of this functionality is possible with PieSync, which you can find in the K+ marketplace. If you're not the techy type, head over to this article to look it over before attempting to do anything with Zapier.

How to Setup Zapier (Build your own Zaps from scratch)

You can select from a few pre-built zaps on the Zapier K+ page, here: https://zapier.com/zapbook/kunversion  For example, if you know that you want to send the leads you generate in facebook to K+ automatically, there is already a connection pre-built for that purpose that you can setup with just a few clicks on that page. If you don't see the connection you want, then you can follow the rest of this guide.

For agents, your Zapier key is on your settings page.

For admins/team leads, your Zapier key is on your embed page.

You start by thinking of the flow of events. What happens first? The trigger is the first item.

This simple example will show you how to create a new lead, from a new subscriber in Mail Chimp. A lot of people use Mail Chimp forms (which can be complex to implement) to get their contacts to sign up for newsletters. You might want to add your contacts to a mailchimp newsletter when you get a new lead in K+ instead! This would mean that whenever you generate a new lead, that lead is being sent over to the Mail Chimp platform to receive the newsletters that you publish within Mail Chimp.

When we click make a new Zap, the first thing we need to do is find Mail Chimp, our trigger app.

We are starting with Mail Chimp because the lead is coming FROM Mail Chimp and we want to put it IN K+ . If we wanted to add leads from K+ and put them into Mail Chimp, then we would start with K+ as the trigger.

When you select Mail Chimp you will of course need to verify your Mail Chimp account. Some programs have API links that Zapier will request and such. Be prepared to dig around for the information Zapier needs. Zapier provides some basic guidance if it needs anything. Usually, they just need you to log into your account and provide an API key.

In summary; we select Mail Chimp, and pick the trigger new subscriber, then we verify our account.

Because of how Mail Chimp is setup, it's also going to ask, from what list do you want to trigger this zap? When you add a subscriber to Mail Chimp, they are always added to a list.

Once all of your criteria is set, Zapier needs to make sure what you selected makes sense. So, it will ask you to test out the criteria you setup.

When you click on Test + Continue, it will look for a subscriber, and if you have any, it will show a successful test!

With our trigger completed, it shows a green check!

Now, we move on to the action. When a new subscriber is added to our newsletter list, adding that person to K+ is the action.

Choose the K+ app by selecting it under "Your Apps." It will be there if you used the link at the top of this guide. You can open the link now if you don't see it in Zapier. After you accept the invite, refresh the page that you were making your Zap on and it will pop up:

After you click K+ , select the Add Lead option, then verify your account like you did with Mail Chimp.

You can find your Zapier Key on your Settings Page. Just look for " K+ Zapier Key." NOT K+ Zapier LINK. ;)

Now comes the fun part. We need to grab information from Mail Chimp to insert it into our new lead record. Zapier is connected to Mail Chimp, so we need to pull down the data from that program to create the lead. For the fields that you see, look for the fields button on the right of each field. That will allow you to insert from Mail Chimp, parameters that contain the information you want.

What we need to create Leads are at least a name and an Email. So in the fields in Mail Chimp, we set email to Email, Merges Fname to First Name, and Merges LName to Last Name, so on and so forth. You can even specify fields to sync like hashtags.

Once everything is setup, you test it. If the test is successful you will have created a new lead! Don't forget to turn on your Zap!

Now, whenever a new subscriber is captured in Mail Chimp, it adds that as a lead to K+ . You will get an email notification as such:

Currently, you can add the following Lead Info to K+ from a 3rd party:
