[BoldTrail - Mobile] How to Copy and Paste in the Mobile App

Learn how to copy/paste text when sending information via email or text message in the BoldTrail mobile app.

Updated over 5 months ago

Overview

Because the BoldTrail mobile app is designed for easy, on-the-go communication between you and your contacts the need may arise to copy a message from one place and paste it into another.

While not all the information in the mobile app is able to be copied, there are a few key places you are able to take advantage of this feature.

Sending a Text

Occasionally, you may need to send the same text message to multiple contacts, but edit the verbiage a bit to fit with each individual.

An easy way to do that is to type out the message either in the mobile app's text box prior to sending it or in your mobile device's notes app. You can then copy the message for future use.

To Copy

For this example, we will copy a previously sent text message from the mobile app, but the below steps to copy will also work on your notes app or any other app/website that allows text copying.

1. From a contact's text message thread in the mobile app, tap on and hold the text you would like to copy for a few seconds until you see the 'Text Message Copied' pop-up appear.

Please Note: If you are copying text from outside the BoldTrail mobile app, the "tap and hold" method will work, but the confirmation pop-up may look different depending on your device.

To Paste

1. From a contact's record in the mobile app, tap the + icon in the bottom right corner.

2. Tap on 'Text from my Smart #'.

TIP: You can select the 'Text from my Phone #' option instead, but the message will not be tracked in BoldTrail.

3. Tap on and hold the text box for a few seconds until you see the 'Paste' pop-up appear.

4. Tap 'Paste'.

5. Edit the message as needed and tap the 'Send' arrow to the right of the message.

Sending an Email

Occasionally, you may need to send the same email to multiple contacts, but edit the verbiage a bit to fit with each individual.

An easy way to do that is to type out the message either in the mobile app's text box prior to sending or in your mobile device's notes app. You can then copy the message for future use.

To Copy

For this example, we will copy a previously sent email from the mobile app, but the below steps to copy will also work on your notes app or any other app/website that allows text copying.

1. From a contact's Timeline in the mobile app, tap on 'View Email' for the email you would like to copy.

2. Tap and hold the text you would like to copy for a few seconds until one of the words is highlighted.

3. Use the arrow indicators to the left and right of the highlighted word(s) to move the highlight around until your desired text is all highlighted.

4. Tap 'Copy'.

To Paste

1. From a contact's record in the mobile app, tap the + icon in the bottom right corner.

2. Tap on 'Email'.

3. Tap on and hold the text box for a few seconds until you see the 'Paste' pop-up appear.

4. Tap 'Paste'.

5. Edit the message as needed and tap Send.

Sending a Listing

The easiest way to send a listing or list of properties via email or text in the mobile app is explained in this Support article.

However, if you want to send a listing to multiple contacts and do not want to use Hashtags OR if you want to send multiple listings to multiple contacts and do not want to use Hashtags you can copy the listing link(s) to paste into your email or text message.

To Copy

1. From the listing's details page in the mobile app, tap the + icon in the bottom right corner.

2. Tap on either 'Send via Email' or 'Send via Text'. Both will take you to the same message.

3. Tap and hold the listing link for a few seconds until one of the words is highlighted.

4. Use the arrow indicators to the left and right of the highlighted word(s) to move the highlight around until your desired text is all highlighted.

5. Tap 'Copy'.

To Paste

TIP: If you are sending multiple listing links in one message, it will be easier if you copy and paste each listing's link one by one into your mobile device's notes app so you can edit and copy the entire message at once to then paste into multiple messages as needed.

1. From a contact's record in the mobile app, tap the + icon in the bottom right corner.

2. Tap on 'Email' or 'Text from my Smart #' or 'Text from my Phone #'.

Please Note: Selecting the 'Text from my Phone #' option will not track the message in BoldTrail.

3. Tap on and hold the text box for a few seconds until you see the 'Paste' pop-up appear.

4. Tap 'Paste'.

5. You can then edit the message as desired and send it.

Making a Note

It is common for agents to leave the same notes for multiple contacts after following up with them. For instance, if you have the same Task for two leads, but each of your calls to them goes to voicemail, you can easily leave the same note for them in their respective Timelines.

1. From a contact's record in the mobile app, tap the + icon in the bottom right corner.

2. Tap on 'Add Note'.

3. Tap on and hold the text box for a few seconds until you see the 'Paste' pop-up appear.

4. Tap 'Paste'.

5. You can then edit the note as desired and save it.
