[BoldTrail] How to Update Your Subdomain
[BoldTrail] How to Update Your Subdomain
Updated over 6 months ago

Overview

In the DNS (domain name system) hierarchy, a subdomain is an entirely new website that is part of a domain. In BoldTrail, your personal Agent website is an entirely new website that is part of your Office/Company website.

Example:

Domain - manningteam.com

Subdomain - delaney.manningteam.com

Using BoldTrail you can update your subdomain simply and quickly right from your account.

Please Note: Depending on your account type, your Admin may need to update your subdomain for you. If you do NOT see the option to update your own subdomain please reach out to your Admin for assistance.

Where to Locate the Subdomain Change Tool

To access the subdomain change tool, find the 'Websites' section in the dropdown from the top right of your account.

There you will see an 'Edit Subdomain' button next to each website that is within your scope (i.e. websites that belong to you, or that you are an admin of).

How to Use the Subdomain Change Tool

When you click the 'Edit Subdomain' button on the 'Websites' page, a modal will open with a write-in field where you can enter the new subdomain you desire.

IMPORTANT: There are some restrictions on what your subdomain can be.

Once you've entered a valid subdomain, click 'Save' to immediately update your subdomain.

Special Scenarios

If the Site is Using a Restricted MLS Feed

If the site you are trying to change the subdomain of is using a restricted MLS feed you will see the following:

“One of the MLSes attached to your website requires approval for this change. Once you enter your desired subdomain and click Save, a case will be sent to our team for approval, and your website will be updated by our team. No additional action will be required on your end until our team reaches out to you. You should hear back from our team within 24-48 hours.

Please Note: If you have already submitted this request, do not submit again. Resubmitting the request may delay the approval process.”

In this case, the subdomain will not be immediately updated. Instead, a case is sent to the Inside Real Estate IDX team to help gain approval. They will reach out via email to confirm completion.

If the Site Has a Vanity Domain

If the site in question is already using a vanity domain, the 'Edit Subdomain' button will not appear.
